What is Radon?
Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless, naturally occurring gas that comes from decaying radioactive material. The central Upper Peninsula of Michigan is a moderate exposure zone with certain areas known for high concentrations.
The EPA estimates that 1 in 15 homes have elevated levels of radon, above the EPA recommended action level of 4 pc/l.
Radon Testing is inexpensive and is recommended to all home buyers at time of home inspection. If a home tests with elevated levels, a radon mitigation system can be installed at a moderate cost.
Home Evaluation Services is certified by the NRPP (National Radon Proficiency Program) for both radon resting and mitigation. HES is also certified by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA).
Radon Reductions Systems
The professionals at Home Evaluation Services have installed numerous radon reduction systems successfully. Each installation includes one (1) follow up test to verify the system is performing as designed.
We employ methods so that the installation does not interfere with every day living and has a minimum impact on the home's appearance.
